I am getting a beautiful little girl dachshund but her current owners do not know what to list her color as and nor do I. I would like to say that I have educated myself well on doxie colors and patterns. Anyway to describe her coloring I would call her a diluted cream piebald. Her sire and dam are both blue piebalds. We have looked over the pedigrees and the sire has creams all in his background and the dam has a few as well. She started out cream more like a lemony cream and has darkened a little and has her piebald markings. I guess what I am trying to ask is there such a color as a diluted cream piebald or could she be a diluted isabella? Can you get an even more dilution than a regular dilution? I know I am going on and on but we need help!!!!!  |

Can you post a photo?
Isabella is already dilute, so it cannot be diluted by the d-series any further. Cream can be diluted by the d-series, but chances are if you have dilute and piebald in this dog's pedigree it is not cream. |

So if a dachshund has dilute and piebald then they can't produce creams? Then what would she be "labeled as"? She isn't isabella. Could she be a cream dapple? I sent you some pics through your E-mail. I don't know how to list them on this site. Also I know that there are english creams and then what alot of people call American creams if the parents both carry the "American Cream" coloring then could that be what she is? Please let me know if you get the pics and let me know what you think!!  |

Not necessarily; just rather unlikely at this point in history.
Also keep in mind that none of these things you are talking about (dilute, piebald, & cream) are in any way genetically linked to each other.

"There is no such thing as an "American cream". If a person is selling a dachshund with that label, they are simply trying to get one over on their buyers; the dog is not a cream and therefore should not be advertized as such."
So no. 
There are creams, there are reds, and there are reds that carry cream, but that's it.

Is that your adress and if not my e-mail is KimmieHolmes@msn.com could you send me something and I will forward them to you I am not haveing an easy time with photobucket and I think this would be easier. And I can get my friend to send me pics of the parents too and maybe their pedigrees as well so that you can see the whole shabang. I have contacted AKC and also sent them pics and they said to register her as a cream piebald. Thanks again for trying to help me in this matter.  |
